The National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program provides senior fire officers with a broad perspective on various facets of fire and emergency services administration. The EFOP curriculum and research framework examines how senior authority figures can exercise leadership when dealing with difficult, adaptive problems within their jurisdictions.
As an EFOP student, I gained knowledge and experience and professional connections that enhanced my professional development through a unique series of four graduate and upper-division-baccalaureate equivalent courses taken over a four-year period. Each course is two weeks in length. Following each class, I completed an Applied Research Project (ARP) that related to my organization within six months after the completion of each of the four courses.
The following are the four ARPs that I completed as requirements to attain my Executive Fire Officer Program Certificate.
